Room 4 2010

Hello everyone, it is great to be back posting on our class blog. We have had a very busy Term 1. The weather has been stunning and we have been glad that our school has a lovely pool. We had our swimming sports in February. In Week 6 the Year 6's went to camp for 4 days. We went to Shakespear Lodge which is situated in Shakespear Regional Park on the Whangaparoa peninsula north of Auckland. I will get the students to post some comments and photos.

Term 2.

What a busy start to the term! All the Senior school visited the Science and Technology Roadshow at Bucklands Beach Intermediate on Tuesday 13th May. We had a great time trying out all the exhibits. We saw some demonstrations which were amazing. The wind tunnel was a popular place with everyone. We really didn't want to go back to school!
On Thursday the 15th May the whole school celebrated Funky Family Fun Day. We all dressed up in things that reflected something to do with our families. Zoe was dressed all in 'brown'-can you guess why?? Chris was in his motorcross clothing, Demi dressed as a baby complete with nappies and a bib, Adrianna, who is from U.S.A, wore a T-shirt from a mall which had both her name and her sister's name on it and there were lots of people in their pyjamas. Mrs McKenzie came in a 'McKenzie' tartan skirt and hat and a MacGregor tartan scarf with the MacGregor clan badge pinned to it. Our Whanau groups all drew pictures of their families and the PTA displayed them all in the hall.It was a really lovely day.
There have been many sports practices and games happening. The gymnastics groups are being shown their routines for the Interschool competition which is next term and the chess teams went to the interschool competition today. The Choir had a BIG practice at BBI yesterday for the whole morning also.
lots of children have been attending the Mad Science classes after school on Wednesdays. WOW! You should have seen those rockets fly!!!
Chinese language lessons start after school tomorrow. Teachers and children are attending these lessons.
The Room 4 children have been going really well on the Mathletics site. You probably know by now that we won a years subscription from our efforts on World Maths Day. We need to make the most of this opportunity and the children are able to access this site from home. They all have the same usernames and passwords from World Maths Day and these are in their Homelearning books.
