Room 4 2010

Hello everyone, it is great to be back posting on our class blog. We have had a very busy Term 1. The weather has been stunning and we have been glad that our school has a lovely pool. We had our swimming sports in February. In Week 6 the Year 6's went to camp for 4 days. We went to Shakespear Lodge which is situated in Shakespear Regional Park on the Whangaparoa peninsula north of Auckland. I will get the students to post some comments and photos.

Interactive whiteboard-Thursday 19th

Well we were finally able to use our Interwrite board today. There was a huge amount of excitement as everyone arrived in the classroom. We had a nice background image of a park on the board. We learned how to select the pen tool and use a narrow line and to change the colour. We also learned how to use the eraser. We think we did a great job and were very successful on our first attempt. What do you think of it?
The photo shows Matthew adding his name on the board.

I'm really glad that you've got a whiteboard up and running - it makes school a whole lot more exciting!

Oddly enough a head teacher from New Zealand came to look round my school on Friday. He was looking at the way we use ICT here in the UK.

Enjoy the whiteboard,

MrKp

Many thanks for your comment MrKP. It is good to hear that some kiwis are gaining good information from the Brits, you are definitely way ahead of us with the use of IWB's. We are really enjoying using it but obviously have a lot to learn. It has certainly stimulated and excited the children about their learning.
